gMKVExtractGUI is a GUI for mkvextract utility (part of MKVToolNix) which incorporates most (if not all) functionality of mkvextract and mkvinfo utilities

Common features and details

• Portable version built by Easy using the PortableApps Format ( PAF )
• Launchers ( MKVToolNixPortable.exe and gMKVExtractGUIPortable.exe )
  • provide Stealth and Fully Portable solutions
  • create the needed environment to grant the embedded applications properly function
  • execute the embedded applications
  • take care of the most relevant leftovers ( registry, filesystem, drivers, services, etc ), after the embedded applications are terminated, avoiding to leave traces and bloat the System
  • preserve embedded applications data and settings, making them always available, regardless of the System on which they are executed
  • preserve Official local settings, needed to other versions of the applications. Local settings are restored ( and newly available for the other versions ), after the embedded applications are terminated. That's the main reason to not start other versions of the same applications during the execution of these Portable versions
  • manage the embedded applications crashes, trying to avoid traces bloating the System are left, and trying to avoid data and settings loss
• Multilingual application ( Official gMKVExtractGUI is available in English language only )
  • all languages, provided with the Official MKVToolNix application, are fully available
  • default language is automatically set, for the embedded MKVToolNix application, according to the System localization or to English
  • a different language can be selected in the embedded MKVToolNix application settings, as for the other edits, it's preserved for next executions
• Fully working on Windows 10 and 11 only. Starting from v69.0 of MKVToolNix, precedent Systems are no more fully supported
• These Portable versions are suitable for the use with PortableApps.com and similar platforms, like SyMenu, Port-Able Suite, etc
• Embedded MKVToolNix is Free ( GPLv2 License )

• Launchers execute the 32-bit embedded applications ( 64-bit versions not embedded )

  • size is about 30MB
  • 32-bit architecture of the applications is the only one embedded
  • preserves settings in case of upgrade ( replacing a precedent 32-bit Portable version by Easy )
