The first step is to buy a good monitor so that you can measure it regularly at home and know where you are, and when you have to take prompt remedial action. MMT Posted February 28, 2022 Share #2 Posted February 28, 2022 My partner & I are both somewhat borderline diabetic. I bought an electronic BP machine, quite a good make, a few years ago. We seldom use it but when we do the readings are all over the place. I decided to purchase another but found this to be less than accurate. I took it with me to my GP, used his then mine. Quite a difference. A friend of ours gave us a hospital type hand pumped machine and separate stethoscope. Readings for this are far more accurate. BTW - my partner is a nurse and used to taking BP.
