Linux Unix BSD and Solaris – Rules

The Forum Rules are here to help us and not to stifle the enthusiasm to collaborate with others. Most sections are covered by the main rules, but some have their own side rules.

First off:

Make sure you check out the overall Forum rules. This is important because we automatically take it you have read them and infractions most likely will result in banning - and you would not want that, would you?

Please remember, whether you have posted here a million times or this is your first post, we all started knowing nothing, so please be sensitive in replying.

Dead Links:

Make a post stating which links are dead.

Mail the poster about the dead link as they are likely to be the first one able to re-link.

The rule book is not comprehensive and final, so check it out now and again.

There is a lot of information out there in newsgroups and the media which may be of interest but, as a community, it would be great if we could get people to explain what it all means and help the newbies who may be struggling to get along. If anyone is up to it then hints&tips, explanations and such would really be appreciated.
