Welcome to our community, Lonerider. :)

Posts from new Andrites need Mod's approval the first week only. We do this to fight against spammers.

I use a VPN service to connect to torrents, but in the past I often used Firefox with the GProxy add-on and the little portable UltraFox app.

I've no other idea what else could do the trick, but maybe an other Andr||net member might be able to help you.

Please, if one can help you, don't forget to click the LTB.png or react.png (depending what you see) button on his/her post.

Cheers, :hi:

Nope I'm not, but we do have Aussie members here ... and even a Moderator is.

I just don't know if they're also torrent freaks.

Maybe ᴆᴙåωω ḀℓῑƐᴎ (another Mod) or uk666 have more info.

Public DNS servers
Domain Name System or DNS is a critical part of Internet infrastructure responsible for translating human-readable server names (such as "websiteproxy.co.uk") into so-called "IP addresses" that computers can use to send data packets to each other (such as "141.101.117.193"). Every time you go to a website, your computer makes a request to a DNS server to obtain the website's IP address.

This is by far the favourite place for the censors to interfere, as this type of blocking is cheapest to implement and operate. If they control the DNS server, they can discard all the queries for banned websites or return false IP addresses. However, this kind of filtering is also easiest to circumvent. All you need to do is configure your computer to use a different DNS server. For example, the one operated by Google.

To add Google Public DNS to your Windows 7

Right-click on Network and choose Properties.

Alternatively, you can enter Network and Sharing Centre into the search box in the Start Menu.

The Network and Sharing Centre opens and you will want to click on Change adapter settings, which is located on the right side of the screen.

Now right-click on Local Area Connection and select Properties. If you have a wireless connection, right-click on Wireless Network Connection and click Properties.

The Local Area Connection Properties screen opens and you will want to highlight/select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) or Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and then click Properties

If you already have, DNS settings listed, make sure to copy or write them down in case you want to switch back. Select Use the following DNS server addresses and type in the following for Preferred and Alternate DNS server:

Note: According to Google, you can interchange the Primary and secondary address, but do not use the same number for both.
ipv4-ipv6-network-properties-error-code-

Replace those addresses with the IP addresses of the Google DNS servers:

442x489x9dns.png.pagespeed.gp+jp+jw+pj+j

For IPv4:
Preferred DNS Server: 8.8.8.8
Alternate DNS Server: 8.8.4.4

For IPv6:
Preferred DNS Server: 2001:4860:4860::8888
Alternate DNS Server: 2001:4860:4860::8844

Click Ok and then close out of the remaining windows and reboot your system, then you will want to test out the settings. Browse around to your bookmarked sites and make sure they display properly.

VPN

VPN (short for Virtual Private Network) encrypts all your traffic and routes it through a trusted remote server. Aside from being very effective in evading censorship, it gives you a good protection from snooping by local agents (ISP, government) and provides a decent anonymity layer.

The only real downsides of VPN are that it costs money and that for anonymity protection you are relying on a single party that potentially can be an easy target for pressure by government agencies seeking to identify you.

To bypass this issue you should sign up with a VPN provider that does not keep logs and is torrent friendly.

LOL Lonerider, you forgot my 1st post? ... "Please, if one can help you, don't forget to click the  react.png button on his/her post."

Dear Andrites,

If you only want to say thank you, then please use the react.png button.
This sends a personal notification to the person who made the post that you have thanked them and it adds an extra reputation to their account.

It will also greatly help the moderators in doing their job. Whenever you reply "Thanks" to a post, the mods see something has changed and have to go to that post to check if it could be spam or if links are dead or whatever.
By using the  react.png button the poster knows that you liked his/her post, but the mods do not have to go and visit that topic.

TWB1.png in advance!

Cheers, :hi:
