Chatbox Oddity

For me, I am getting Chatbox Disconnected with the area all whited out every few minutes, a few times while I was still typing a message to post.

Clicking 'Re-connect' (or whatever the button is called) has no effect other than an endless cycling of the 'waiting for forum-andr.net'. To get the Chatbox back, I have to click the page reload button or click into another forum and then click the 'Home' button.

The programmer is aware of it, I contacted him today.

My msg to the programmer:
While typing, part of the characters are missing. Most of the time at the bottom, but sometimes it is at the top.

I also want to let you know that the chatbox disconnects quite quickly, sometimes after 1 or 2 minutes, and clicking the [Click to reconnect] doesn't work, but that was already so with the previous version.

He fixed the characters settings already. Strange thing ... that problem was only on Firefox.

His reply for the disconnections:
About the disconnect, there may be a problem on your site/server or client side that caused the ajax requests can not be done.

Tested with the IPS Default and the White Christmas themes.

Do you mean the chatbox is disconnected?

If so, you have to refresh the page as clicking on [Click to reconnect] never worked.

I already contacted the programmer of the chatbox, but apparently it only happens with a few forums.
He also doesn't understand why it works on some and not on other forums... while all are using the same forum software from IPS!

Edit:The disconnection of the chatbox, after a "set" period of time, is normal.

Yes it's disconnected and I did keep trying the click to reconnect but that didn't work so I came out then went back in (same as refresh) and it worked. It appears to only do this on the first login after leaving it for a few hours.

Hi matey,

If I remember well, the programmer mentioned it disconnects after 5 or 10 minutes.

But I'm not 100% sure anymore as that was way back in 2013 or 2014.

Do you mean it remains disconnected after you refreshed the page?

That shouldn't be so, it should reconnect again for a while.

Hi @BamSec1

Refresh on a mobile is not the same as Refresh on a laptop/computer. Had to go out three times before it worked, never had this problem previously.
