Lord Farquad wanted to consummate his marriage.

But he wanted to see what he was doing. So he ordered Sebastian, his butler to hold a candle while he did the deed.

Sebastian was unable to hold the candle to Lord Farquad's liking and the shadows were falling in the wrong places, making the deed impossible for visual satisfaction.

Lord Farquad then ordered Sebastian to strip his breeches and make love to the queen, while Lord Farquad held the candle perfectly.
