Little Johnny was riding across town in a taxi with his mother.

As the taxi passed through the red-light district, Johnny had a question; “Mummy, what are all those ladies waiting for?” he asked.

Johnny’s mum decided that Johnny was not yet mature enough for the real answer, so she said, “Oh, they’re just waiting for their husbands to pick them up after work.”

The taxi driver spoke up; “Oh, c'mon! Tell the kid the truth!” Johnny heard that, and pleaded with his mother, “Please oh please, mummy! I want to know the truth!”

Irritated, Johnny’s mum stared daggers at the cab driver through his rear-view mirror, then calmly explained the whole concept of prostitution to her little boy. 

Johnny took the explanation in, thought about it for a moment, then asked, “What happens to the babies those ladies have?”

“Well, when they grow up,” Johnny’s mum replied:

“They become taxi drivers.”
