Andr-Tech uk666 Posted December 7, 2023 Author Andr-Tech #3 Posted December 7, 2023 I don’t use the built-in windows firewall, so I can’t really experiment. But couple of things: Did you grant administrator rights to the KG? Disconnect from the Internet and install the program again of-line and maybe only use the program of-line, if you wish to try this suggest then you must remove all trace of the Windows 11 Manager by using something like Revo Uninstaller Pro. 1
orfeo Posted December 8, 2023 #4 Posted December 8, 2023 Hi Uninstalled with Revo Uninstaller pro, reboot, set pc offline, installed W11manager, registred (offline) with generated key, then I open Windows 11 firewall (advanced security) to create a new rule (in and out) for Yamicsoft windows 11 manager, exit and run program - Offline again - it starts and, of course, it is all ok as no internet connection; BUT opening again firewall both the rules are disappaired. It seems that windows 11 manager, when runs, check and erases the rules. 1
Jamizon Posted December 11, 2023 #5 Posted December 11, 2023 (edited) For this task, I use Windows Firewall Control. I'm not sure if i can link the site, but a simple google search will usually list the site as the first link. It's a simple overlay for the Firewall already contained within Windows 11. After installation, simply enable "shell integration" in the options menu. Now, programs can be blocked (or unblocked) from the right click context menu from any program .exe or shortcut. Easy peasy. I've been using this program for years without any issues whatsoever, and, it's free. Edit: clarity Edited December 11, 2023 by Jamizon 1
FunkyBuddha Posted December 11, 2023 #6 Posted December 11, 2023 I ran into an issue similar to this. After blocking the app, some of its components still managed to call home. I use to pi-hole for dns sinkhole and mined the dns queries to block the sites. 1
mgk1956 Posted January 26, 2024 #7 Posted January 26, 2024 I use Easyfirewall. Rules creation is quite easy for novices like me!
FunkyBuddha Posted January 27, 2024 #8 Posted January 27, 2024 The best firewall I've had a chance to use was Privatefirewall. Really bummed when development stopped. It still works great in Win7 and below.
