Legoman Posted July 18, 2023 #1 Posted July 18, 2023 Anybody know if its possible to once and for all force Windows 7 to always display folder view option to LIST only instead of massive/large/medium/normal icons or details/tile/content etc.? This is the one thing that shits me about W7 and despite extensive googling, have never been able to resolve. Windows 7 just will not remember or allow a permanent change to the list display type for all folders in all instances all the time. Create a new folder and its display mode is instantly set to massive icons. Is there a solution that doesn't involve accepting all the in-built spyware of Windows 10?
SuperModerator BamSec1 Posted July 19, 2023 SuperModerator #2 Posted July 19, 2023 I categorize this to IMPOSSIBLE; I tried it for more than 10 years! It only works once you opened a folder and changed it in the upper right corner to open from "whatever it is (usually details)" to list. When you later, even after 1 year, return to that folder, it will open again in the list mode... that's the only option! All help and explanations from Microsh*t "so called experts" didn't work. It's the only thing I didn't, and still don't, like in Win7. 2
Legoman Posted July 19, 2023 Author #3 Posted July 19, 2023 Thanks for reply and I have had exactly the same experience and come to the same conclusion. Windows 7 would actually be completely perfect of an OS if this annoyance was solveable. Shame they had to ruin it with such a trivial annoyance.
