Sour (stylized in all caps) is the debut studio album by American singer and songwriter Olivia Rodrigo, released on May 21, 2021, via Geffen Records. It was produced by Daniel Nigro, who co-wrote the album alongside Rodrigo. Inspired by Rodrigo's favorite genres and singer-songwriters, Sour is primarily a pop and alt-pop record that sprawls between energetic pop punk and bedroom pop ballads. Its subject matter centers on adolescence, failed romance and heartache.

The album explores Rodrigo's perils and discoveries as a 17-year-old, with its title referring to the uncomfortable "sour" emotions youngsters experience but are often shamed for, such as anger, jealousy and unhappiness. Sour received acclaim from music critics, who regarded it an impressive debut album and praised Rodrigo's musical versatility, honest lyrics, and Gen Z appeal.

Three singles preceded Sour's release, all of which reached the top 10 of the US Billboard Hot 100. The lead single, "Drivers License", achieved global success and acclaim, debuted atop the Hot 100, and propelled Rodrigo to mainstream prominence. It was followed by "Deja Vu", which reached number 8 on the chart, making her the first artist in the chart's history to debut their first three singles inside the top 10. "Good 4 U" marked the album's third single to top the Hot 100, making Sour the first debut album in history to spawn three number-one debuts on the chart.
One week after the album was released "Good 4 U" Reached the Top of Billboard's Hot 100.

In the United Kingdom' Top 100 "Drivers License" reached the top of the chart. "Deja Vu"'s highest position was number 11, and "Good For You" debuted at number 2 to reach the top of the chart one week later.
