Stefan Thomas, a German programmer living in San Francisco, has $220M worth of bitcoins on his computer. But he needs the password to access it, which he has forgotten. He is allowed 10 attempts to guess it, of which he already used 8. And if he also gets the last 2 attempts wrong, the money is locked and lost for ever.

I ask myself whether I would like to be in his position. Although I’d have nothing to lose and an awful lot to gain, I’m not sure I could handle the stress and the shock of the likely failure.
