jimbo Posted May 18, 2018 #1 Posted May 18, 2018 (edited) hi guys. BamSec1 has advised me to ask here about which option of win 10 to use that would be best, so hopefully you will be able to advise me i am still on win7 x64. knowing that support will cease in about 18months, i am considering upgrading? to win 10. i know the various official upgrade options are out of time, but wondered if it is still a possibility to do that, given that my win 7 ultimate is an 'unofficial' version? when i did do the upgrade to try, a long, long while ago, it all proceeded fine with no warning messages or spit outs. i just didn't like it so reverted to my win 7. if upgrading is not an option, i assume a full install is required so wondered on the best version to use, ie is pro, enterprise or a LTSB best? are drivers included in the above versions for printers, scanners, modems/routers etc? if i cant upgrade and need a key or code to go with the full, clean install, what to use and where to get the win 10 version that's best to use? i know it's a lot to ask guys but hopefully you can point me in the right direction. i'm gonna have some time on my hands which i can put to reasonable use doing this many TIA Edited May 19, 2018 by BamSec1 BamSec1... Corrected my nick from Bamsec to BamSec1. ;)

Andr-Tech uk666 Posted May 19, 2018 Andr-Tech #6 Posted May 19, 2018 Sorry about the mislaid link, I found another link: Windows 10 (x86/x64) 10in1 + LTSB +/- Office 2016 | 8.92 GB Hidden Content Give reaction to this post to see the hidden content. Install - Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB (64-bit), Use included medicine to activate windows / Office 2016 to genuine version. So what is Windows 10 LTSB? Many users are not aware that a special Windows 10 edition comes without the bundled apps, Cortana and even Microsoft Edge. That is because Microsoft has not released it for regular consumers but for enterprise users only. That edition is called "LTSB" which stands for "Long Term Servicing Branch". What's missing from LTSB? CORTANA: Microsoft’s personal assistant, voice command feature … pretty well, is just not present in LTSB. STORE App and all other Modern, Metro Apps like Weather, News, Sports…: This means that you cannot install or launch any of the apps, which also means your START button is pretty boring without any cool live tiles, but that is good, because most users don’t need or want these spyware and crapware Apps from Microsoft. EDGE Browser: Microsoft’s replacement for Internet Explorer browser is also pretty good it does note exist in Windows 10 LTSB. Because EDGE is the future, you would think you could download it as a standalone browser (like Firefox or even older versions of IE). If you do a search to download Microsoft Edge, you will find can download EDGE directly from Microsoft. Take a look at the screen shot of the Windows 10 LTSB and notice that there is no scroll bar in the ALL APPS because there are so few included in LTSB: Of course, if you need these Apps, Install - Windows 10 Professional - Try BamSec1 link (Thanks Bam) Hidden Content Give reaction to this post to see the hidden content. 8 1
