datakore Posted March 17, 2018 #1 Posted March 17, 2018 Hi folks, I need a lil help here please. I am on Windows10, I use Portable Firefox. I also have Febe with it. I just need to know what do I need to do to import my entire profile/extensions and etc from my Portable version to an install version. The easier the way, the better. I also cannot find the directory on Windows10 for the portable versions files as how they were stored on Win XP. All and every help is much appreciated. Thanks in advanced.
Administrator Bad Karma Posted March 18, 2018 Administrator #2 Posted March 18, 2018 Hi friend, I don't have any info about the version you're trying to migrate. Before V56, it's much easier, FEBE will backup and restore correctly all settings of all addons. After V56, FEBE still restores all addons but you'll have to manually tweak the settings of each addon again. Now about directories where the info is stored : Hidden Content Give reaction to this post to see the hidden content. Hidden Content Give reaction to this post to see the hidden content. Both pages straight from the Mozilla support. Keep in mind that if you have a version under V57 and try to migrate stuff in a more recent version on Windows 10, there's a big chance that some of your addons will be broken. Firefox doesn't support legacy addons anymore since V57. If you have both in your actual portable version, I advise you to have a look at Waterfox. It still supports both types of addons and has also a lot of other features not found in the official Firefox. Hope this helps. 3

Besides lots as been tweaked from the original FF, for the better. As for Waterfox, will that import all my settings/extentions/tabs as its shown for me in my PFF? I currently have Google Chrome installed on my laptop but I hate it because it doesnt give you multi tab rows like in FF we have Tab Mix Plus Two little issues to overcome when switching to Waterfox. It's 64bit if you have native 32bit addons they may not work or you will have to reinstall the 64bit version of the addon. Waterfox works with legacy plugins & the new plugins but as you start a fresh install it will create also a fresh profile. Your addons can be imported easily but some addons will behave as with a fresh install, you will have to adapt those specific settings once. It's only a small price to pay. But Tabmix Lite and Tabmix Plus work both with Waterfox, that ain't the case with FF original since V57. So yes, you will keep multiple tab rows and all those extras Hope this helps. 1
