Andr||Net Audio Posting Rules

01.

  • Search before posting as the album may already be available. Duplicate posts will be merged when appropriate or locked / deleted.

02.

  • Post Albums / Soundtracks in their respective sections.

03a.

  • The topic title should consist ONLY of the Artist - Album Title (Year), ie.
    Michael Jackson - Thriller (1982).

Do NOT add file host abbreviations / symbols / formats or use caps lock, ie.
    [RS] MJ - THRILLER (MP3).

If multiple albums by an artist are posted in one thread, then simply title
Michael Jackson (Various Albums) or Michael Jackson (Discography).

If you wish to add further info such as: Promo / Genre / Retail / Deluxe Edition / MP3 / FLAC / 2 CDs / Box-Set etc. etc.,
then add it to the topic's Description, unless one of the above is also on the album cover, then you may add it in the topic title.

    Do NOT abuse the TAGS. Tags are meant to pay the attention and show something special was posted, example;
A request filled by a member, or a leaked album posted before its released date, etc. etc..

03b.

  • The topic content should include [if known] format / bitrate, a download link that must have the option of free download, music genre, any additional info you'd like to add concerning the artist / album and the track listing or a link to the album via Amazon, CD Universe, HMV etc.

04.

  • Passwords which advertise websites / forums are allowed. However any that direct / redirect to porn sites will be removed, the post locked and the member reported to our Administrators!

05.

  • No spamming / flaming / religion / politics / drugs / file host discussion in posts. These threads will be locked and possible action taken against any guilty member.

06.

  • Images are allowed, however if the image posted is too big it will automatically be re-sized. Image hosts are the preferred method, hot-linking from other warez boards is not allowed. In the Audio Section there is a limit of 1 audio cover per post.

07.

  • You are allowed to post one (1) audio video per topic/post in this section. If you want to post more, do it in the section for posting audio videos HERE.

08.

  • No bumping of posts. These threads will be locked.

09.

  • Do not post requests in this section. There is a separate dedicated section solely for the purpose of requesting audio. You can find it HERE

10.

  • Do not post any DEX or Torrent links. They will be removed and the topic will be locked. It could result in a ban, be warned!
  • There is one exception for posting torrent links, that is in the weekly charts.

11.

  • Do not use underscores ( _ ) in your topic titles! Possibly that a search for Lionel Richie might not be found if you name it Lionel_Richie.

Any posts that don't follow these very simple guidelines will be locked / sent to the graveyard at the mods discretion.

Example Album Post:
Topic Title: Michael Jackson - Thriller (1983)

01. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'
02. Baby Be Mine

04. Thriller
05. Beat It Listen

About Music Formats ...

... and why I convert originals or FLAC to VBR0 instead of 320kbps CBR.

Very high quality 1 (VBR): HiFi, home, or quiet listening, with best file size VBR0 (245~320 kbps), VBR1 (~225 kbps), VBR2 (~190 kbps) or VBR3 (~175 kbps) are recommended. These VBR settings will normally produce transparent results. Audible differences between these presets may exist.

Very high quality 2 (CBR): HiFi, home, or quiet listening, with maximum file size -b 320 is an alternative to the VBR settings above. This CBR mode will maximize the MP3's bitrate and overall file size. The extra space may allow for some parts of the audio to be compressed with fewer sacrifices, but to date, no one has produced ABX test results demonstrating that perceived quality is ever better than the highest VBR0 profile described above.

Thus... The best quality (for lossy MP3) is -VBR0 which has the advantage over 320kbps CBR that it produces the same quality and the file size is much smaller.
